About Joe
Joe began playing guitar at the tender age of six, playing primarily in various local rock groups throughout his teens before branching into other styles including folk and classical.
In 2019 he graduated from the London College of Music with a First Class degree in classical composition, whereupon graduating he auditioned for the legendary rock group Jethro Tull and was successful, officially becoming their guitarist in 2020.
Joe toured the world with Tull for the next 4 years (after a Covid false start) including three American tours, trips to the Middle East and shows just about everywhere in Europe.
He also recorded two albums with the band, playing on a track on the ‘Zealot Gene’ album (2022) and all tracks on ‘RokFlote’ (2023).
Joe made the decision to leave Tull in 2024 in order to have more time for his own folk rock band Albion that he had formed in 2019.
Albion’s second album ‘It Was In The Month Of May’ was released in 2026 to critical acclaim, following on from their 2024 debut album ‘Lakesongs of Elbid’, with both being mixed and mastered at the legendary Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.
The band then embarked on a UK tour through May, June and July in support of the new album, before performing at festivals over the summer, including Fantasy Forest Festival in Sudeley and A New Day Festival in Kent.
Albion venture to the Netherlands in September for a special Dutch show at Parkvilla Theater in Alphen aan den Rijn on September 4th.
Joe continues to teach, perform, arrange and record alongside his duties in Albion.

Joe writes, arranges and produces all the music for the folk rock band Albion, as well as contributing vocals, flute and mandolin to the band, along with his shared guitar duties.
He has also composed and arranged music for TV and orchestra, with some of his compositions having featured in advertisements in multiple countries and concert halls in London.
Joe also runs a Youtube channel devoted to the guitar, or more specifically to guitar arrangements of classical pieces, some of which have proved popular gaining hundreds of thousands of views. These have included full arrangements for guitar of Holst’s ‘Planets’ Suite, Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’, Thomas Tallis’ ‘Spem in alium’, and many, many others.
